George Gordon Battle Liddy is an American lawyer, FBI agent, discussion host, actor, and character in the Watergate scandal as the senior agent of the White House Plumbers Unit under the Nixon administration. Liddy was convicted of conspiracy, theft and eavesdropping due to his role in the scandal. Together with E. Howard Hunt, Liddy organized and directed the robbery of the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate building in May and June 1972. After 5 Liddy members were arrested at the DNC office on June 17, 1972, further investigations into the Watergate scandal resulted in Nixon's resignation in 1974. Liddy was convicted of theft, conspiring and refused to testify before the Senate Watergate Inquiry Committee. He served nearly fifty-two months in federal prisons. He then joined Timothy Leary in a series of debates at many universities, and also worked with Al Franken in the late 1990s
